Ruth Souther Osteen, age 85, passed away April 13, 2024. She was born on January 17, 1939 in Brevard, NC.
Ruth loved helping, caring and shopping for others. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her world. She enjoyed spending time with family, attending and watching ball games and cheering on Clemson. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mable Souther Herzberg and Harvey "Benny" Souther; her loving husband, Fred Marion Osteen Jr.; her grandson, Lance and her great-grandson, Caine.
She is survived by her children, Ruth (Orville) and Sam (Lisa); her grandchildren, Jason, Casey, Ashley (Jake), Taylor (Danielle), AnnMarie (Dustin); her great-grandchildren, Owynn, Olivia, Isabella, Gavin and Wyatt; her sister, Anne (Van); her niece, Shawn (Chris) and her nephews, Lenny (Kim) and David. She is also survived by numerous loving cousins.
Private services will held in North Carolina at a later date.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Ohio's Hospice of Dayton for all the love and care they provided the last 3 months.
