MILLER, Ruth (Short)
age 73, of Dayton, passed away at Hospice of Dayton, Sunday, May 7, 2006. Ruth was born in West Liberty, KY on March 14, 1933 to the late William and Venus Short. Ruth was a stranger to no one and a friend to many. She was an avid "Master" gardner and was happiest barefoot and digging in her flower beds. Mom touched many young hearts through the years at her home day care. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Miller, 3 brothers, Kenneth, Edward and Earl Short; 1 sister, Kathryn Omusdon (Short). She is survived by her 4 children and their families: daughter, Sharon Williams, her son, Matt Morgan his wife Debbie and his daughter, Elizabeth, and their children, Mattesun and Matthew (Jr.) Morgan; son, Robert Miller, his companion Julie Silvers, his children, Kyle Mason and Kaitlyn Miller, and her children, Kellie and Kristie Pierce; son, Steve Miller, his wife Cathy their daughter, Thia and her husband Jason, and their children, Alexis and Austin Keagy; daughter, Kathy Thompson, her husband Rich and their son, Rich Alan; 2 sisters, Helen Alty (Greg) and Treva Adams (Roger); 2 brothers, Virgil Short (Roberta) and Hershell Short (Suzanne); and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Family will receive friends 5:00 p.m. until the time of services.
