Ruth J. Middleton

Ruth J. "Jo" Middleton, age 91, passed away peacefully in her home, Saturday, May 6th, 2023. Jo was born in Hopedale, Ohio, on June 9th, 1931, the daughter of the late Wallace and Harriet Stringer. Jo is preceded in death by her parents; her siblings; son-in-law, Bruce Kohler; and grandson, Kristian Kohler.

Jo was an outstanding softball player. She played in a semi-professional league through her teens and twenties in Dayton, OH. She then went on to coach softball. Jo was also a huge Cincinnati Reds fan, often seen sporting Reds attire. She retired from the State of Ohio and then went on to be a door greeter at Walmart for several years.

Jo loved spending time with her family. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and all around person. Jo will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

She is survived by her three daughters, Dottie Kohler, Donna West and Marcia (Timothy) Wilson; her grandchildren, John Clark, Daniel Kohler, Samantha (Wes) Hilderbran, Rebecca Wilson, Baylin (Cameron) West and Charles Wilson; great-grandchildren, Teghan, Joanna, Abigail, Audrey, Jerry, Kenneth Jr., Jayden, Jayse, Bryan, Kayla, Drew and Anthony; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 10:00am-11:00am, on Friday, May 12, 2023, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, where Funeral Services will begin at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery in Xenia.
