Ruth Loretta Phillips

Ruth Loretta "Cookie" Phillips, 81, of Union, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014 after courageously battling illness for fourteen months.
She was born March 8, 1932 in Dover, Ohio, the daughter of the late John and Ruth Yost.
Ruth was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who focused her life around the love and joy of her family.
Ruth enjoyed working in her garden, and looked forward each spring to the blooms. She will no longer have to wait for spring because Jesus' garden blooms eternally.
Ruth is survived by her husband of 54 and 1/2 years, Billy Phillips; children, Brenda (Doug Goeman) Jones, Sandy (Thomas) Nawman, Billy (Jennifer) Phillips; grandchildren, Sean Goodrich, Michele Phillips; Great-Granddaughter - Malena; 2 sisters - Dorothy (Robert) Robinette, Margaret Ball; numerous nieces, nephews, and many good friends.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, John Yost, Robert Yost, Ralph Yost; sisters, Betty Snyder, Pauline Kendal, Helen Williams.
Visitation will be held from NOON-1:30 PM, Monday, March 10, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH where a funeral ceremony will begin at 1:30 PM, Monday.
Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice, 8069 Washington Village Dr., Dayton, OH 45458.
