Ruth L. Wagner
Wagner, Ruth L., of Dayton, OH, age 86, left this life to be with her Lord and Savior the afternoon of Thursday, October 19, 2006. Ruth was born in Ft. Recovery, OH on November 19,1921 to Clarence and Fay Wagner. She had a sister, Helen, who preceded her in death.
Ruth graduated from Ft. Recovery High School in 1937. She furthered her education at the Springfield Business College in 1939.
Ruth was a dedicated public servant. She worked for several years at Mercer County offices and had over 50 years of service in the Federal government. She started her Federal career in February 1944 at the Soil Conservation Services Office. She also worked for the FBI, General Services Administration, and the U.S. Civil Service Commission, later renamed the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM). Ruth started working at the Civil Service Commission in 1966 and retired from OPM in 1998. She was an excellent secretary and stenographer who received numerous awards.
Ruth was a caring and friendly person with a good sense of humor. She was strong and independent and lived life with determination and dignity. Ruth was cherished and will be missed.
No service will be held. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Central United Methodist Church 102 W High St. Springfield OH 45502 or Salvation Army.
