Ruth L. Johnson

JOHNSON (Eggers), Ruth L. was born May 13, 1913 in Wagner, SD to Jacob and Bertha (Strohbehn) Eggers. She died July 25, 2009 in Dayton, OH. She attended Yankton College in SD, and taught school in Wagner. She married Wesley E. Johnson in 1942. He preceded her in death in 2001. Also preceded her were her parents; 4 brothers, Fred, Arthur, Walter, and Robert Eggers; 2 sisters, Lois Whalen and Eleanor Eitemiller, and a daughter, Lori Evans. She is survived by son, William (Barbara) Johnson; 2 grandsons, Eric Johnson and Daniel (Rebecca) Johnson; son-in-law, Scott Evans, and a host of nieces and nephews. A celebration of Ruth's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, July 31, 2009 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the American Red Cross. They would also like to thank her many caregivers at Kettering Hospital, Bethany Village, and Hospice of Dayton.
