Ruth Harlan

Harlan, Ruth P. (Phillips), age 79, of Washington Twp., passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2008 at Liberty Retirement Community.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husbands: Donald L. Crites and Wert K. Harlan; parents: Harold & Alice (Watson) Phillips; granddaughter: Emma Harlan; sister and brother-in-law: Mary & Frank Hartley. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Linda (Crites) & Frank Laidley of TN; sons and daughter-in-law: Steven & Babbette Crites of MS, Kenneth Harlan of IN; grandchildren: Shawn & Karine Laidley, Jennifer (Laidley) & Matthew Teeters, William Harlan, Sam Harlan; great grandchildren: Cameron Teeters, Tyler Laidley, Andrew Laidley; sister and brother-in-law: Carolyn & Richard Greene of OH; and numerous other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, August 28, 2008 at Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel) 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering. Interment will follow the service at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff of Liberty Retirement Community for their devoted and loving care of Ruth.
