Ruth Henrietta McGlaun Smith, 79 of Beavercreek, Ohio joined the love of her life William Ellis Smith in God's Kingdom on June 6, 2016 at Cottage on Vine- Rocky Mountain Care Facility under the care of Rocky Mountain Hospice in Murray, Utah near her son.
She was born November 6, 1936 in Texas to Daniel and Rowena McGlaun. She was the youngest of five children. She married William Ellis Smith in June 1955.
She is survived by her son William Edward (Stephanie) Smith, one grandson Vance Michael Hatfield, one sister Mary Garrett, one sister-in-law Sara McGlaun, nieces and nephews Jeffrey Garrett Sr., Donna (Robert) Foster, Daniel (Kim) McGlaun, Willie McGlaun, Charlotte (Bill) Stebbins and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband William Ellis, daughter Tracey Marie, brothers Harold Norman, Charles Wesley, and Donald Wayne McGlaun, parents Daniel and Rowena McGlaun, mother and father- in-law Mabel and Ed Smith, brother- in- law Clurie Garrett and sister-in-law Ruth (Norman) Mcglaun.
Ruth was a member of the East Dayton Christian Church and loved her church family.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the funeral at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home Beavercreek, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd. Beavercreek, OH 45432. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, we request donations to Rocky Mountain Hospice, Hospice of Dayton or East Dayton Christian Church in her name.

Special thanks go to the East Dayton Christian Church family who sent numerous cards to make her feel the love during her final journey.
