Ruth Anna Fischer

FISCHER, Ruth Anna (Drummer), a loving mom, grandma (nana), great-grandma and friend who devoted her life to her family, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Trinity of Beavercreek after a beautiful, long life. She was 93. Ruth Anna was born July 26, 1929, in Dayton, OH to Albert and Rose (Kriegel) Drummer, youngest of five children. She graduated from Wilbur Wright High School class of 1947. Over the years, Ruth enjoyed playing cards, square dancing, bowling, working at Sacksteder's, ushering at Victoria Theater, meeting with her St. Mary's elementary school friends "Just Us Girls," watching the Cincinnati Reds, playing ukulele with the Strummers, participating in St. Luke's Leisure Club and socializing with family and friends. She demonstrated a deep commitment to her faith by distributing communion at senior communities and providing meals for bereaved families. Ruth especially enjoyed hosting Easter every year for her family. She was a founding member of St. Luke Parish, established in 1956. Ruth Anna will be lovingly remembered for her strong faith and love of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her ex-husband and father of her children, Thomas Charles Fischer, brothers, Roy and Don Drummer and sisters, Marguerite (Peg) Brinkley and Rose Barnard.

Ruth Anna is survived by one son, Lawrence (Mary) Fischer of Marco Island, FL and five daughters Carol (Gary) Anderson of Mason, OH, Cindy (Michael) Achor of Mason, OH, Cay (Roger) Nefzer of Centerville, OH, Connie (Michael) Self of Kettering, OH and Cheri (Dan) Graeter of Beavercreek, OH, 14 grandchildren, David (Lindsay), Christy (Gary), Erica (Ted), Erin (Derek), Lauren (Eric), Alison (Jared), Chris (Danielle), Sarah, Hillary (Bryan), Anna (Justin), Joey, Kelly (Chris), Abby, Adam and 12 great-grandchildren, Kayden, Danielle, Cambria, Jillian, Stella, Noah, Briella, Embry, Elodie, Sawyer, Isla, Adelaide and Baby Smith and her dear childhood friend, Betty Krohn, as well as many other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am with a Memorial Mass at 10:30 am at St. Luke Catholic Church (1440 N Fairfield Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45432). Inurnment will follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ruth's name to the Lofino Senior Center, 3868 Dayton-Xenia Rd, Beavercreek, OH 45432 or St. Luke's Leisure Club (1440 N. Fairfield Rd., Beavercreek, OH 45432), where she enjoyed many activities.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the compassionate caregivers in Lexie Lane at Trinity of Beavercreek for providing Ruth love, kindness and selfless care during her last few months.
