Ruth Eilleen Linderman

Ruth Eileen Linderman was born in West Milton in May 1923; she passed away in Centerville in December 2009. She was 86 years old. Ruth is survived by her son, Jim Wheeler of San Antonio, Texas; a granddaughter, Kirsten Sigloh of Charlottesville, Virginia; a grandson, Gary Wheeler of Boise, Idaho; and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert "Red" Linderman, in June, 2004. Ruth grew up in Dayton as the middle daughter of five daughters raised by Lon and Margaret Tenney. In the years following World War II, she had the opportunity to travel around the US and to the Far East and lived at various times in Florida, New Mexico, Massachusetts, California, and Japan. She returned to the Miami Valley in the late 1950s and spent the rest of her life in this area. In January 2001, Ruth suffered a serious stroke that destined her to spend her final years at the Liberty Retirement Community in Centerville, Ohio. She will be remembered as an energetic, hard working, and talented person with a wide range of interests and a dry sense of humor. She always enjoyed having a bountiful garden with fresh vegetables for the kitchen and beautiful flowers for the house. Everyone who knew Ruth before her stroke will have fond memories of her and the good times she enjoyed with family and friends. Ruth will be interred at Woodland Cemetery after a private memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that individuals so inclined make a monetary contribution to their church or favorite charity in Ruth's memory.
