Ruth E. Cordray, "Evelyn", age 94, of Dayton, passed away January 2, 2021.
She was born June 10, 1926 in Xenia, Ohio to the late Clarence and Cora (Williamson) Johnson. In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, James in 2012 and her 4 siblings.
She is survived by her 5 children, Linda Gauthier, Bruce (Jan) Cordray, Ed (Beth) Cordray, Mark (Mary) Cordray, Robin (Carl) Galloway; 8 grandchildren who affectionately called her "Grandma Ebby"; 9 great-grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews.
Evelyn grew up on a farm near Xenia, Ohio which began a lifelong love of the outdoors, the weather, birds and traveling. She as well as her whole family loved to sing and she could play the piano by ear. Evelyn was a talented artist who excelled at drawing landscapes, animals, and trees.
Evelyn was blessed with patience and a personality which brought joy to her family as well as to those she met on her journey through life.
