Russell C. Thacker, 88, of Dayton, Ohio passed away February 28, 2014. He was born January 18, 1926 in Evarts, Kentucky, to the late Dr. H. F. and Susan (Sargent) Thacker.
Russ was a veteran of the US Army in WWII and served with distinction there.
He is survived by his children, Julia Thacker, Calvin Douglas Thacker; grandson, Evan Thacker; sister, Edna Hendrickson and brother, John Thacker. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his sister, Lenore Tweed.
Visitation will be held from 6-7 PM Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, Ohio where services will begin at 7:00 pm, Wednesday.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 PM, Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Rest Haven Cemetery, Baxter, Kentucky with Military Honors.
Russ was a veteran of the US Army in WWII and served with distinction there.
