Russell Lee Oney

Russell Lee Oney, age 79, of Huber Heights, passed away on April 13, 2021. He was born in West Liberty, Kentucky, on October 1, 1941, the son of the late Park and Virgie Oney.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Shelby Oney; and siblings, Pauline Whittaker, James Oney and Gloria Price.

Russell is survived by his loving son, Donnie L. (Stephanie Ingram) Oney; brother, David Oney; dear friend, Pepe (Alicia) Hasty; and many other loving family and friends.
He served his country proudly by serving in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Russell retired from Country Machine & Tools, where he was a Machinist for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed doing carpentry work and traveling the country with his wife, Shelby. He was a very hardworking man and a true gentleman to anyone he met. He was dedicated to his family and will be dearly missed by everyone who loved him.

Visitation will be held from 10:00am-11am, on Friday, May 14, 2021, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, where services will begin at 11:00am with Pastor Joel Getts officiating. Burial will follow at Dayton Memorial Park.
