Russell G. Landreth, age 88 of Kettering, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born March 17, 1928 in Flemingsburg, Kentucky to the late Roy and Emenitia Landreth.
Russell attended the Wesleyan Evangelistic Church in Dayton. He worked as a painting contractor most of his career. Russell was still currently an avid billiards player, a car enthusiast and loved the outdoors.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Pat Johnson, Ruth Darnell, and Duane Landreth. Russell will be missed by his wife of 63 years, Helen; children, Dale (Cindy) Landreth, Sharon (Matt) Bowen, Angela (Chris) Aldrich and Terry (Vicky) Landreth; thirteen grandchildren, Bryan Shane (Nikki) Landreth, Christopher Landreth, Benjamin Landreth, Claire Landreth, Tyler Stokoe, Jammie (Erin) Kelly, Natalie (Joe) Allen, Evan (Sara) Bowen, Eric (Mindy) Aldrich, Kyle (Diana) Aldrich, Karrisa (Justin) Tourtillott, Zachary (fiance Courtney) Chamberlin, Nicholus Landreth; 8 great-grandchildren, 5 step great-grandchildren ; 1 great-great granddaughter; brother, Charles (Carolyn) Johnson; many nieces and nephews and many friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 9, 2016 from 4:00 pm until the time of the funeral service at 6:00 pm at Fairhaven Church Centerville Campus in the Schwalm Chapel, 637 East Whipp Road, Centerville, Ohio 45459, Pastor John Manley, officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1 pm Saturday at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Morehead, KY.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Russell's memory to Hospice of Dayton.
