Russell Marvin Curtis

Russell M. Curtis, age 90, of Xenia, passed away surrounded by his family on February 27, 2025. Russell was born in Xenia, Ohio on October 1, 1934 to the late Herbert and Grace Curtis (Bartlett).

Russell is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nancy Curtis; brother, Raymond Curtis; as well as his son-in-law, Wayne Owens. 

He is survived by daughters, Beth Owens and Laura (Dave) Aldridge; granddaughter, Amanda (Andy) Landis, Brittany (Zach) Shoemaker, Sarah (Ryan) Simpson and Courtney (Josh) Aldridge; grandson, Brandon (Casie) Nicoll; great-grandchildren, Blake, Aubrie, Hunter, Riah, Owen, Sam, Theo, Rylan, Alivia, Zeke, Noah, Lauralie and Parker; honorary grandson, Bryan (Amber) Simpson; honorary great-granddaughters, Mya and Melanie; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Russell retired from Kroger after 45 years. He was a member of Eleazer Methodist Church for many years. Russell was also a member of the Gideon. 

In his free time, he enjoyed playing baseball, boating, playing cards and games, spending time in Lake Cumberland with his family, going to church and landscaping. 

Russell was a man of faith. He loved his family deeply and was there when they needed him. Russell was the foundation of his family. He was ornery and had a great smile. 

Donations may be made in Russell's memory to the Eleazer Methodist Church (PO Box 271 Xenia, Ohio). 

Visitation will be held from 12:00pm-1:00pm on Friday, March 7, 2025 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek), where funeral services will begin at 1:00pm. 

Russell will be laid to rest with military honors at Valley View Memorial Gardens (170 N. Valley Rd., Xenia) following the service.
