Russell Allen Swett Ph.D., age 57, of Huber Heights, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2023. Russ was born in Colorado Springs, CO at the Air Force Academy on August 12, 1965 to the late Norman & Revella Swett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his uncle, Randy Browning. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Ponsi Swett; son, Cody C.P. Swett; siblings, Laura (Perry) Pugh and Stephen Swett; nephews, Jesse Shewman, Gabe and Gavin Swett; nieces, Ashlee Shewman, Brooke, Chapel and Kennedy Swett; mother-in-law, Pulphon Carpenter; aunts, Suwannee Browning and Cassandra (Richard) Daniels; cousins, Selena and Cameron Browning; and beloved dogs, Freya and Zuzu.

Russ provided over 30 years of government civilian service supporting the United States Air Force, National Air and Space Intelligence Center, Wright Patterson, Ohio. During his tenure, Russ served as a Radar Systems Engineer from July 1990 to February 2005, then from March 2005 to September 2018 as a Principal Intelligence Radar Engineer. Russ' last role was the Director of the Radar Analysis Flight. During his time at NASIC Russ provided and oversaw the production of unrivaled intelligence and engineering products to support the warfighter, acquisition community, and policy makers on foreign radar systems guaranteeing mission success and survivability in all domains. He was also a proud Air Force veteran.

He was an avid supporter of the Buckeye Bull Dog Rescue, the American Red Cross and Pelotonia. Russ loved reading, traveling and scuba diving. He was very supportive of his family and you could always find him at the kid's activities. Russ will be remembered for his incredible intelligence and entertaining sense of humor. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Legendary Russell Swett Memorial Fund at Wright-Patt Credit Union for a planned memorial bench and tree.
