Rushell Adams, age 91, of Dayton, went home to be with the Lord on August 18, 2012 at Hospice of Dayton.
He was born in Carrollton, Georgia and a Dayton resident for over 62 years. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church for over 47 years where he served as a Deacon.
Proceeded in death by his parents Simeon & Bertha Adams, his wife Geneva Clopton Adams, siblings Dewell, Hugh Lee, Thomas, Blanch Adams and Annie White, and step-son Jessie Laster. Left to cherish his memory, his daughter Dorothy Douglas, sons Raymond (Diane) Adams, Larry Adams Sr., Charles Adams Sr. all of Dayton, 2 Sisters, Lee Bertha Adams, Dayton, OH. Safiyyah (Birdie) Qasim, Taylors, SC, Sisters in Law, Arvella Thomas & Pearl Clopton, Columbus, OH, Irene Clopton, Randallstown, MD, Bessie Cox, Atworth, GA, Lillie Mae Adams, Carrollton, GA. Grandchildren Robin (Keith) Adams-Rosichan, Rochelle Nelson, Kevin Adams, Kenneth (Evonne) Adams, Rae'Monda (Joe) Adams-Hogue, Larry Darnell Adams Jr., Shelly (Christopher) Averette, Jessie Laster II, Veronica Lynch, all of Dayton, OH, Jenine (Domonic) Gray, South Mills, NC, Tovin (Dashaun) Howard, Virginia Beach, VA, Raymond Delmar (Heidi) Adams Desoto, TX, Tiffany (Corey) Smart, KY, Charles C.J. Adams Jr. Columbus, OH., 46 Great Grand, 16 Great-Great-Grand, close friends Dea. & Sis. Alonzo Motley, Mr. & Mrs. Lee R. Brown, Mr. & Mrs. Henry Jordan, Lieutenant Monie, and a host of many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
The family will receive friends Fri. August 24 from 6-8 PM at Shiloh Baptist Church 3801 Fairbanks Ave. Dayton, OH.
Homegoing celebration will be Sat. 11:00 AM at the church Rev. T.D. Newkirk officiating.
Interment West Memory Gardens.
