Rumi Swick, age 60, of Centerville, went on to Heaven on August 24, 2022.
Rumi was born October 12, 1961 in Okinawa,Japan. She attended Northmont High School, and graduated from Coldwater High School, Class of 1980, and went on to earn her Associate's degree in Fashion.
Rumi worked for over 20 years at Ryan Homes, and also worked part time at The Gardenland in Centerville.
Rumi was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Gross.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Curtis (Heather) Swick and their son, Mason; her mother, Rieko Gross; her sister, Michelle (Brad) Stammen, brother, Michael Gross; along with nieces, nephews, her friend of 50 years, Linda Ramsey along with many friends, all who loved her dearly.
Rumi was very proud of and deeply loved her son Curtis and his family. She enjoyed spending as much time as she could with Mason.
She was a passionate gardener who had beautiful, lush gardens and could make anything grow. Rumi loved arts and crafts, especially making jewelry. She was a great cook and loved to make recipe books to share with family and friends. Rumi also enjoyed a lifelong love of camping.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 from 11:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm at Newcomer Centerville Chapel, 820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd.
If desired, donations may be made to SICSA Pet Adoption and Wellness Center or the Humane Society of Greater Dayton in Rumi's memory.
