Ruie Lee Spurlock

Ruie Spurlock, 79, passed away on April 2, 2021 at Hospice of Dayton, Dayton, Ohio. Ruie was born in Salyersville, KY to the late Everett and Gladys Reed Spurlock. She attended Lee Community College in Salyersville and Morehead State University in Morehead, KY. Ruie began her teaching career in a one room school house in Lakeville, KY then moved to Dayton , where she taught for many years at Grant and Wilbur Wright Middle Schools. She was proceeded in death by sisters, Vella Sue, Peggy and Deborah and brother Gary.

She is survived by many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. Ruie is quoted as saying "What a blessing my students have been to me and I'm thankful for each and every one. They've been like family to me through the years."

Visitation will be held on Wednesday April 7, 2021 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Newcomer - Beavercreek Chapel (3380 Dayton - Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45432). Internment will be at Memorial Burial Park, Wheelersburg, Ohio.
