Rufus Cornett

CORNETT, Rufus, 85, of Centerville passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at The Hospice of Dayton.

He is preceded in death by son David R. Cornett and brothers Clayton and J.B. Cornett.

Rufus is survived by his wife, of 32 years, Carol Cornett; children Don (Jackie) Cornett, of Grapevine, TX, Bruce (Diana) Bowling, Kim (John) Florkey, and Kellie (Kevin) Klein; nine grandchildren Tiffany Cornett, Justin (Heather) Boyer, Bryan, Eric, and Lindsey Klein, Anna (Dustin) Campbell, Elizabeth Bowling, Emily and Ethan Florkey; great grandchildren Ayla Klein and Anthony Campbell; sisters Elsie Thomas and Betty Moore; brothers Elmer and Cecil Burdette; and many other family and friends.

Rufus was a veteran in the U.S. Army with service in WWII. He was retired from Refiners Transport.

The family would like to thank the nursing and housekeeping staff at Oak Creek Terrace Nursing Home.

Family will receive friends from 10:00AM-12:00PM, Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton Xenia Rd. Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Saturday, October 2, 2010 at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Heritage Hills Cemetery.
