Rudolph “Rudi” Halek III, 77, of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away on August 23, 2024. Born on September 24, 1946, Rudi was a man of dedication, honor, and love.
Rudi proudly served his country in the United States Navy for three years during the Vietnam War, exemplifying courage and commitment. After his military service, Rudi returned to his beloved hometown of Cleveland, where he spent two decades as a cherished crew member aboard the Goodtime III, bringing joy to countless passengers on the Cuyahoga River and Lake Erie.
Rudi was known for his friendly personality and helpful nature, always ready with a smile or a helping hand. His warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew him.
Rudi’s greatest joy in life was his love Lucille with whom he shared over forty wonderful years. Their reunion in eternity brings peace to those who knew how deeply they loved one another.
Rudi is survived by his children William Records (Gary Harris), Robert Records (Kaitlyn), and Rudolph Halek IV (Helena); his sister, Teri Miller; his grandchildren and his nieces and nephews. He was a proud and loving brother, husband, father, grandfather, and uncle, and his legacy will live on through his family.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at Dayton National Cemetery (Shelter House B) on Friday, September 6, 2024 at 11:00 am. Family, friends, and all whose lives Rudi touched are invited to attend and honor his memory. Those wishing to attend will meet at "Assembly Area A" in the cemetery (please follow signs in Cemetery).
