Rudolf Kaspar Gaertner

Gaertner, Rudolf "Rudy" Kaspar, age 78, of West Carrollton, passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born April 8, 1940 in Lengerich, Germany to the late Kaspar and Gertrude Gaertner and immigrated to the United States in 1956 at the age of 16. He married Linda Finney on September 19, 1964. He is survived by his sons, Colonel (Ret) Barry (Sharon) Gaertner and Kent (Jenni) Gaertner; daughter, Lisa (Scott) Helter; grandchildren, Blake, Kristen & Lindsay Gaertner, Jordan (Robbie) Hoppe & Daniel Gaertner, Sydney & Haley Coy; great grandson, Gavin Hoppe; brother, Ulrich (Louise) Gaertner; special friends, Ralph Petertonjes and John Randle; and numerous other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Linda. A Gaertner and his brother, Gerhard Gaertner. The family will receive friends at Newspring Church, in Springboro, from 4:30-6:30pm Saturday, May 26, 2018 with a memorial service immediately following.
