Ruby Valerin

Valerin, Ruby (Huff), age 79, of Dayton, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2008 at Kettering Medical Center. She is survived by her daughter: Vicky; son: Ronald; special friends: Ruby Smith and Kathy Kennard; and beloved yellow labrador: Maxwell. She was preceded in death by her husband: Arnold in 1966. Ruby worked at Sunshine Biscuit for many years, volunteered at The Castle, and retired from the Hewitt Soap Company. Ruby loved playing Shanghai on Saturday nights, vegetable gardening, crocheting, and reading mysteries. Her presence will be irreplaceable.

The family will be receiving friends on Monday, May 5, 2008 from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel) 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering. Interment will be held privately at Calvary Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Catholic Social Services for their loving and wonderful care of Ruby.
