LADMAN, Ruby Rae
Age 87, passed away January 27, 2015. She was the first born to the late, John Layman and Mable Seal in Piedmont, MO. The family moved to Park Hills, MO. where she grew up and graduated from Esther High School. Ruby was an accomplished organist, vocalist, and trombone player. She attended Olivet College.
Christmas Eve 1947 Ruby and Cliff were married. They were blessed with 5 children: Michael (Linda), Patricia (Jim) Payne, Debora (Larry) Porter, Douglas (Linda), and Geoffrey (Adriana).
Ruby was a 35 year member of the Dayton Buckeye Model A Ford Club and M.A.R.C. National Club. She enjoyed showing her collection of original Era Fashions and was the first lady ever to achieve a perfect score at a National meet. She was an ideal wife, mother, and homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Edward and her son, Douglas.
She leaves to mourn her husband of 67 years, her 4 children and spouses; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; brother, J.L. Seal Jr., sister, Eva June Grounds; and numerous nieces and nephews; along with many friends.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 3, 2015 from 12:00 pm until the time of service at 2:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd. with Pastor Bob Kurtz officiating. Interment to follow at Polk Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Masonic Home, 2655 W. National Rd., Springfield OH 45504, in Ruby's memory.
