Ruby I. Prater

PRATER (Fields), Ruby I., born Jan. 5, 1922, age 85, passed away peacefully at home Thursday, December 27, 2007. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 54 years, Roy L. Prater; parents, James S. and Jane Fields; siblings, Arizona, Vada, Minnie, Nannie, Eunice, Denver, Ralph, Raymond, and Lovell. Ruby is survived by her 2 daughters and their families: Sandy and Dave Ruth and son, David Jr. (Amy), his son Jonathan; daughter Stacey and her daughters, Autumn, Brittany, Brenda; and also daughter, Linda and Curtis Oney and sons, Jeff and Mona Douglas, their children, Kenny and Julia, and son Randy "Pete" Douglas, his daughters, Leah and Jessica; sister, Euna of Whitesburg, KY, along with many extended family members and dear friends. She will be remembered for her love of people, especially little ones and her unfailing faith in God. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Crossroads Hospice and all of her other caregivers. Funeral services will be held 11:00am Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering. Family will receive friends from 10:00am until the time of service. Pastor James Monroe Caudill officiating. Interment at Miami Valley Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crossroads Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association.
