Rubel Hicks

HICKS, Rubel "Rube", passed away unexpectedly at his home on January 7, 2010. Rube was born September 16, 1936 in Elk Valley, Tennessee to Albert and Lula Hicks. After serving 3 years in the United States Army, Rube served 27 years on the Dayton City Police Department, and retired as a Sergeant in 1988. Rube was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Goldie Criner, and his sister-in-law, Barbara Hicks. Rube will be greatly missed by those who survive him including his brother and sister, Odell Hicks and Derushia (Bart) McGhee, and brother-in-law Hollis (Betty) Criner. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; Vickie (Jerry) bullock, Brenda (Kevin) Kellar, Delone (Daniel) Taylor, Dennis (Joyce) and Ronald Wayne (Ronda) McGhee, Carl (Brenda) Hicks and David Criner. Great nieces and nephews include Jenna Bullock, Tara Kellar, Cynthia (Kevin) Galbreath, Amber (Matthew) Caruso, Frank and Carla Lee Hicks, Wayne (Teresa) McGhee, Andrea McGhee, Darrell (Amanda) McGhee and Randy (Jessica) McGhee. Graveside services will be held in Elk Valley, Tennessee at the Warren Memorial Gardens cemetery on Saturday, January 16th at 1:00 pm.
