Copeland, Roy T., age 66, of Tipp City, passed away on April 6, 2009 at Troy Care and Rehab Center. He was born November 13, 1942 in Monroe, TN, the son of Arnie & Conva Copeland. He served in the US Army during Vietnam and was formerly employed by McCook's Bowling Alley. He was a member of Amvets Post 24 and Tony Stein American Legion. He played softball with the Dayton Legends. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harley C. Copeland; and sister, Christine Robbins. Survivors include his sisters, Marie Danner of Troy and Nellie Miller of Riverside, and brothers, Kelly Copeland of Franklin; Ray Copeland of Tipp City; and Arnie Copeland, Jr. of Tennessee; aunt, Clara Beatty of Tennessee; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends from the softball team. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, April 10, 2009 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, Ohio with Pastor George Camp officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10 AM until the time of services. If so desired memorial contributions may be made to the Dayton Legends Ball Club.
