Roy Roger Rose

Roy Roger Rose, age 74 of Riverside, Ohio passed away on October 3, 2021. He was born January 8, 1947 in Dayton, Ohio son of the late Charlie and Jessie Rose.

Roy was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Roy was a proud Veteran who served in the United States Army. Further leading into two grandchildren following in his footsteps, proudly joining as well. He enjoyed working in his workshop making toys for his grandchildren and fishing with his family. Both Roy and Mary were members of Miami Shores Baptist Church. Roy is going to be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his son, William James Rose; brothers, John Rose, Jimmy Rose, and Charles Rose; sisters, Phyllis Knipp, and Joetta Rose.

Roy is survived by his wife of 27 years, Mary M. Rose; children, Renee (Keith) Newman, Lisa Rose, Amy Smith, and Jason Davenport; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and one on the way; sister, Doris O' Byrne; twin brother, Ray (Karon) Rose; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 14, 2021 from 11am to 12 noon at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45432). A funeral service will follow at 12pm with Pastor Doug Surber officiating. Burial to follow at Dayton National Cemetery.
