Roy Turner, age 88, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at his home.
Roy was born on April 30, 1926 to the late Wessie & Lizzie Turner.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Reva Turner; his loving son, Walker Eversole and siblings, Ray Douglas, Maud Johnson, Marie Turner and May Turner.
Roy is survived by his son, Douglas R., and Cindy Turner; daughter, Gaynell, and deceased husband Gerald Coon; sister-in-law, Irmgard Turner and daughter Debbie; grandchildren, Gina Hall, Wesley and James Turner, and Kacy; great-grandchildren, Celestria Turner and Amber; nieces and nephews, Pryse, Raymond, Mary, Judy, Glenda, Shirley, Lizzie Marie, Orvel, Deloris-who he deeply cared for.
He served in the US Navy during 1944-1946. Roy worked for GM/Harrison Radiator for 44 years as a tool and die troubleshooter.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 30, 2014 from 5-7 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439). The service will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at 1pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Miami Valley Memorial Gardens, off of St. Rt. 48, Centerville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
