Roy L. Smith, age 77 of Dayton, passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2013. He was born on December 31, 1935 in Hazard, KY to the late Seldon and Victoria Smith.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Laura Louise Smith; sons, Rick and Gary Smith; daughter, Patti Smith and sister, Liz Day.
He is survived by his son, Rodney (Rose) Smith; daughter, Shirley Ostrander; daughter, Vickie Smith; grandchildren, Angel (Adam) Smith, Jessica Smith, Ricky (Brandy) Smith, Donnie (Nikki) Martin, Elizabeth Smith, Melissa Martin, Tina (Troy) Newton and Bubby Hiles; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Ronnie (Lois) Smith; sister, Mable Towles; his best friend, Jake; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
When Roy was in better health, his passion was fishing, playing poker and was an avid #1 UK Wildcat fan.
