Roy E. "Stubby" Wilson, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was preceded in death by his father & mother, J. Roy & Ruth Wilson; brother & sister-in-law, Robert "Bob" & Margaret Wilson; sisters, Dorothy Zimmerman & Peggy Burns.
In 1951 Roy was the youngest man in the city of Dayton to pass the exam & receive his HVAC license. He was employed with Holland Furnace Company for many years & retired from Refrigeration Equipment where he was foreman of the sheet metal department. That experience brought to him a challenging job, the Nutter Center where he supervised the creation & installation of ductwork & HVAC. A man of little words, he was happiest spending time with his family at Lake Cumberland or working with his hands.
He is survived by his childhood sweetheart & loving wife of 66 years, Elma June; daughter, Deborah & son-in-law, Duane Quedeweit of Knoxville, TN and daughter, Kimberly Wilson & son-in-law, Bobby Davis of Florence, KY.
A longtime member of Belmont United Methodist Church (2701 S. Smithville Rd.), where the family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 from 4-7 pm & a celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 10 am. Burial will be at Miami Valley Memory Gardens.
