Roy Rudolph Denny Jr.

Roy Rudolph Denny Jr., a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully January 11, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on February 4, 1946, in Dayton, Ohio, Roy was a man of few words but deep affection, embodying a loving spirit that resonated with all who knew him.

Roy was a graduate in 1965 of Trotwood Madison High School. Roy valiantly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, an experience that shaped him and instilled in him values of resilience and dedication. His love for his family was unwavering; he cherished the moments spent with his wife of 50 years, Beverly Gardner-Denny, and took great pride in his role as a father to his sons, Tom (Mary) Bowling and Matthew (Kim) Denny.

An avid fisherman, Roy also had a passion for woodworking and camping. He was also a member of the Church of Christ. His greatest joy was found in nurturing relationships with his grandchildren—Amanda M., Chad T., and Erica R. Bowling—and watching them grow. Roy's legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Hunter, Julian, Spencer, Kenickie, Tommy, and Jaxon, who brought immense joy to his life. Roy was an animal lover and over the years had many dogs. He is survived by his loving furbabies who miss him dearly, Mr. Tazz, Miss Tink, Mr. Bean and Miss Minni.

In addition to his immediate family, Roy is survived by his brothers, Tony and Sam Denny. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Roy Denny Sr.; his uncle and father figure, Uncle Sam Swank; and siblings Donnie, Tommy, Audrey, Connie, and Carol, all of whom hold a special place in his heart.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during visitation on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM, at Newcomer Funeral Home - North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

Roy Rudolph Denny Jr. will be profoundly missed, but his memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who loved him.
