Wigginton, Roy Clay, age 87, of Dayton, Ohio died at home of natural causes on November 27th, Thanksgiving morning. Roy was born March 16, 1921 in Mt. Sterling, KY. He was a World War II Veteran, serving in the 411th Battalion in Northern France and Central Europe as a combat infantryman. He received the EAME Theater Ribbon and 4 bronze stars. Roy was a career trucker, retiring from Commercial Freight Teamsters 957 of Dayton. He survived his parents, Robert Lee and Eliza, his first wife of 53 years, Annie Florence Wigginton, and his son Robert. Roy is survived by his brothers and their spouses, Paul and Naomi, John and Edith, Reid and Betty, Marvin and Ann. Roy is also survived by his wife of 7 years, Gladys Evans Wigginton; 9 step-children and their spouses, Eugene and Lynne Evans, Jimmy Evans, Ruth and Winfred Brown, David and Bobbie Evans, Rosa and John Woloson, Jackie and Cathy Evans, Susan Huntsburger, Danny Evans, Donnie Evans, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. The viewing will be Monday, December 1, 2008 from 6-8 PM at Brantwood Church, 2400 Albrecht Ave., Dayton, OH 45404. Services will be held Tuesday, December 2nd at 11 AM at the church. The presiding pastor will be Tom Bowman. Roy will be laid to rest at Woodside Cemetery in Middletown, Ohio. Roy Wigginton lived a long and fulfilling life.
