Rowena J. Cavey

Rowena J. Cavey, age 97 of Dayton, reunited with her husband, John E. Cavey on July 3, 2021. She was born on March 17, 1924 in Morgan County, OH to the late Otto and Beatrice (Smith) Duncan. In addition to her husband and parents Rowena was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Butt; daughter-in-law, Anna Cavey; grandson, John Cavey; brothers, George, James, Harold and Robert.

She is survived by her two sons, John Cavey and Tim (Jane) Cavey; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Aaron) Abshire, Angela (Tom) Kokkinakis, Erica (Jason Curtis) Cavey, Donald (Jamie) Butt and Daniel Butt; eleven great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Johnson; brothers, Larry and Gary (Donna) Duncan; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A very special thank you to the staff of Hawthorn Glen for the exceptional care and love they gave Rowena. The family would also like to extend a thank you to Hospice of Dayton for the care and compassion they provided.

Family will receive guests from 12:30-1:30 PM on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Centerville Chapel (820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd., Dayton, 45459) where a funeral service will begin at 1:30 PM. Rowena will be laid to rest next to her husband at Bellbrook Cemetery, Bellbrook, OH, following the service.
