Rosemary Ruth Hostetter, age 91 of Dayton, passed away on Thursday August 11, 2011. She was born on January 5, 1920 to the late George and Goldie Erwin. In addition to her parents, Rosie is preceded in death by her two husbands, George W. Covill and James P. Hostetter; one son, Terry W. Covill; and granddaughters, Maria and Tali.
Rosie is survived by her 8 children, Judy (Paul) Pratt, Susie (Joe) Bauer, Deanna (Olen) Covill, Paul M. (Wilma) Hostetter, Deborah (Joe) Berner, R. Joyce (Gary) Lawson, and James (Shirley) Hostetter and Marilou (John) Engle; daughter-in-law, Joyce Covill; 25 grandchildren, Tim, Ron, Michelle, Lisa, Sherri, Lori, Ruthie, Jodi, Duane, Denise, Greg, Matt, John, Paula, Wendy, Jim, Amy, Sara, Jesse, Danielle, Roy, Angel, Kerry, Johnda and Jeremy; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; Sandy Meng; Pat Covill; special friend, Patty Miller; and numerous other family members and good friends.
Rosie retired from Triangle Screw after 40 years of devoted service. She also volunteered for Valley Street Bingo for 25 years, and also at the Salvation Army. The family would like to send out a special thank you to the care givers at Englewood Liberty and Crossroads Hospice.
A visitation will be held on Monday August 15, 2011 from 5:00-8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Rd. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday August 16, 2011 at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Dayton Memorial Park.
