Rose Stapleton

November 28, 1948 — February 3, 2025

Dayton

Rose Stapleton, born on November 28, 1948, in Offenbach, Germany, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2025, in Dayton, Ohio. Rose was a cherished figure in her family and community, known for her kind heart, generous spirit, and vibrant personality.

A proud graduate of Baker High School in Fairborn, Ohio, Rose held the esteemed titles of homecoming Queen and "Ms. America," showcasing her charm and charisma from an early age. Throughout her life, she demonstrated a remarkable ability to connect with people, both personally and professionally. She built a successful career as a domestic engineer and professional telemarketer, relishing her love for conversation and making meaningful connections over the phone.

Rose's selfless warmth and approachability extended beyond her vocation; she was a master at creating joyful memories with her loved ones especially love of her life, John Craven. Christmas was her favorite time of year, a season she celebrated with great enthusiasm, sharing her love of the Lord and thoughtful wisdom while spending time with family and friends. In her leisure, she embraced a variety of hobbies and interests, including enjoying movies, attending concerts, Sci-Fi, and maintaining her status as a fashionista by staying on top of the latest trends. Additionally, her love for gardening and flowers reflected her nurturing disposition, and she often enjoyed playing putt-putt golf or sharing dinner with those she adored.

Throughout her life, Rose was known not only for her intelligence and sense of humor but also for her deep spirituality and savvy nature. She claimed her role as a beloved matriarch, whose proudest accomplishment was the love she cultivated within her family and her bond with her pets, particularly her Bichon, Honey Sue.

Rose is survived by her longtime love and best friend, John Craven with whom she shared a deep connection and special bond for over 40 years. She is also survived by her four loving children, Brent (Allyson) Daniels, Mariena (Bob) Mason, Michelle (Dave) King, and Charlene (Bryan) Rossi; her grandchildren, Cindy (Rob) Smith, Dan (Jessica) Lutey, Coriena (Tony) Schirack, Cheryl (Andrew) Hawkins, and Dakota King; and her great-grandchildren, Andrea Hawkins, Dylan Lutey, Keegan Lutey, Brexton Lutey, and Jeremiah Hawkins. She is also survived by her cousin, Doris Jutta Hershey, and many longtime friends who adored her presence.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Joseph and Sonja Huesman.

A visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home in Kettering, Ohio, on February 14, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and again on February 15, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will take place on February 15, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. Rose will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery.
