Rose S. Kurtz, 91 of Dayton, passed away on August 5, 2022 at Fairmont Senior Living of Washington Township. She was born on July 1, 1931 in Philadelphia, PA the daughter of Samuel and Anna Mazis.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Bernie Mazis, sister Clara Rosenberg, sister Eleanor Kamienny, and son Stephen Weiser.
Rose is survived by three children, Michael Silver (Debbie), Dave Silver (Diana), Larry Silver (Lisa Lander), 14 grandchildren including Ilana Weiser, Cory Weiser (Julie), Lisa Beth McLeod, Ben Silver, Emily Silver, Andy Silver, Selena Silver, Joe Silver, Daniel Silver, Deborah Silver, Samuel Silver, Christopher Silver, Nathaniel Silver (Maria), and John Michael Lander, 5 great grandchildren including Emryk Weiser, Bradley and Blake McLeod, Isaiah and Daniel Silver, Rose is also survived by numerous family and friends.
She was Jewish by background and participated in the Bahai Faith for many years. Rose graduated at age 45 with a bachelor's degree and went into Social Work, serving the elderly. On the side, she had ALLY, a non-profit that created alternative housing for the elderly for 25 years securing four houses to reduce their monthly housing expenses. Rose enjoyed music, crafts, books, faith, and people. The most important thing to Rose was God and family. Rose is loved and will be deeply missed by all those who knew her.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Newcomer Funeral Home-Centerville Chapel located at 820 Miamisburg-Centerville Road, Centerville Ohio 45459. Funeral Service will be officiated at 11:00am. Internment will be at David's Cemetery immediately afterward.
