Rose Marie Gilley

Rose Marie Gilley, age 79, of Brookeville, Ohio, passed away on October 9, 2022. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on January 26, 1943.
She was baptized as a young adult and married Samuel John Turner Cartlidge, from that marriage no children were born. May 27, Rose Marie Cartlidge married Joseph B. Gilley, Jr., and no children were born but two loving step daughters: Sonia Gilley and Zeporeas Gilley. Karen Woodly came into her life in 1979 and she brought Precious Woodly who became her granddaughter. Years later, Precious gave her a great granddaughter.
Rose was preceded in death by her mother, Grace E.Turner Coles; step father, Thomas J. Coles; and nine siblings. She is survived by her "daughter": Karen Woodly Carpenter; granddaughter: Precious Woodly; great granddaughter: Iyanna Evans; a host of great nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews; sister friend: Joan Stanfield; several cousins; and other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at the Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton.
