Parsons, Rosa M. "Rosie" age 95, of Jamestown, Ohio was called home on Sunday, August 25, 2019. She was born in Hyden, Kentucky on December 27, 1923 to the late Jack and Cordelia Howard (nee Cornett).
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Lawrence J. Parsons, sons, Larry J. Parsons, David E. Parsons, and Donald Parsons; grandchild, Bianca R. Barnett; and siblings, Betty, Jennie, Bob, Ray, James, Clayton, and Helen.
Rosie is survived by her beloved children, Linda (David) Barnett, Lonnie L. Parsons, Gary D. Parsons, Oma Jean Williams, Charlotte J. Gardiner, Peggy (Ron) Lucas; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great -grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other family members and friends.
Rosie will be greatly missed and forever loved by all who knew her. She was a "granny" not only to her grandchildren but to the friends of her children and grandchildren. When you came to her home, you never left hungry or un-welcomed no matter if you were family or not. Rosie started having problems with her health about 8 years ago and so her daughter, Linda (David) Barnett and granddaughter, Shania Barnett lived with her to watch over her with the help of her grandchildren & great-grandchildren, Tasha Mills, Dustin Parsons, Ethan Earley, Jade Prether, Hailey Mills, and Lucas Mills took care of her.
Rosie adored the time she got to spend with her many great's -grandchildren, Paris and Aiden. She would spoil her grand-babies with cookies and other sweets when the parents weren't looking. She also loved to tell stories of growing up in the holler. Her favorite past time was watching the Golden Girls and she was sure not to miss watching her Kentucky Wildcats play basketball.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 29, 2019 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432 followed by a Funeral Ceremony at 12:00 pm.
