Roosevelt Johnson
February 20, 1937 — January 6, 2019
Roosevelt Johnson, age 81 of Dayton, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born February 20, 1937 in Metter, Georgia to the late Sam and Willie (Ellis) Johnson.
In addition to his parents, Roosevelt was preceded in death by his wife, Lois (Boykin) Johnson and siblings, Mary Johnson and Lee Johnson.
Roosevelt is survived by a sister, Martha Johnson and a host of family members and friends.
Roosevelt attended school in Georgia and later moved to Ohio in the 1960's to pursue work. He obtained long-term employment with DP&L for 30 plus years as a laborer before retirement and was a member of the UWUA 175. Roosevelt enjoyed caring for his property and automobiles in his spare time.
Family will receive guests from 1:00-2:00 pm Monday, January 14, 2019 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Kettering. A funeral ceremony will immediately follow at 2:00 pm officiated by Robert Frye. West Memory Garden, Dayton will serve as Roosevelt's final resting place at a later date.
