Ronnie Clay "Big Dog" Hatton, Sr.
Age 58, of Dayton, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 8, 2011.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Jr. & Juanita (Marcum) Hatton; one son, Gary Wayne Hatton; and by two brothers, Gary & Bobby Hatton.
Ronnie is survived by seven children, Melesha (Frank) Baker, Elissa Gaston, Jaime Hatton, Willie (Heather) Hatton, Ronnie Hatton Jr., Sarah Hatton & Cheyanne Hatton; 13 grandchildren; two sisters, Debbie Cox & Charlotte (Jimmy – whom he considered to be a brother) Haddix; and by his extended family & many good friends.
Ronnie was a U. S. Army veteran and a talented Bluegrass musician & singer. He was a member of the Friends of Bluegrass Association. Ronnie will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother and all-around good friend.
The family will be receiving friends from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Monday. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made to the family to help with final expenses. A benefit fundraiser to help with funeral expenses will be held Saturday, March 12, starting at 2:00 p.m. at the Double Deuce, 17 Brandt Pike, Dayton.
