Ronald Joseph Wojcik, age 84, of Beavercreek Twp., Ohio passed away February 28, 2017 at Hospice of Dayton. Ron was born October 6, 1932 in Watkins, PA. He was taught by semi cloistered Franciscan nuns from Buffalo, NY in grades 1-8. Ron attended Spangler High School in PA and graduated from Fairview High School and The University of Dayton. He enlisted in the Army and served for two years.
Ron married Gladys Mino, the mother of his children Kathy and Ron Jr.. Ron was preceded in death by parents Mary (Archick) and Joseph Wojcik; second wife Eunice, and son Ron Jr.. Ron is survived by daughter Kathy Martyr; grandsons David Martyr and Joey Wojcik; good friend Ron Sorrell; sister Mary Jo Suttmiller and daughters Janet Suttmiller, Anita Suttmiller (of Dayton, OH) and David Suttmiller (of Scottsdale, AZ).
One of his joys was card playing with Sandy and Arnold. He also enjoyed traveling with Bill, Linda, Jim, Carmeta and Ed. His greatest joy was his love of nature and the outdoors, hiking and camping in the hills of PA and Yellow Springs, Ohio. Ron was a very uncomplicated and fun loving gentleman. He never missed a Mass on Sundays. He had many successful years as a jeweler and watch repairman and earned the respect of his many customers and friends.
Our thanks and appreciation go to the wonderful care and attention he received at Hospice. He will be greatly missed and may his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, thru the mercy of God, rest in peace, Amen.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Henry Church on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 10:30 am. Family will greet friends at the church from 9:30-10:30. Inurnment will follow at David's Cemetery Mausoleum.
