MILLER, Ronald, age 71, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2014. He was born in Elkhart, Indiana to Ray Eldon Miller and Betty June (Clark) Miller on June 2, 1943.
He leaves behind his wife, Mitzi; children, Ronda Gibson (Brian) and Brian Miller (Tracie) and their mother, Betty Ruth; grandchildren, Spencer Gibson, Zachary Gibson, and Parker Miller; father, Col. (ret) Ray Miller; brother, Michael Miller, and sister, Pamela Miller-Girton.
Ron was a longtime member of the Disciples of Christ Church, serving as an Elder, Deacon, and Chair of the church board. He also attended Knob Prairie Church in Enon, Ohio. Ron was self-employed for many years, owning a computer consulting service in Enon, Ohio. During this time he also taught Computer Skills at Clark State College.
Prior to starting his own business, he worked many years as an engineer and designer at Benchmark Homes in Brookville, Ohio. In high school, in Warrick, Virginia, he was a star varsity athlete in Football, Basketball, Baseball, and Track. His most cherished vocation was as a Red Cross Certified Water Safety Instructor, training Lifeguards and teaching the young to swim. He was the swim instructor for the children of Astronauts Grissom and Cooper, at the Langley Air Base pool.
