Ronald R. Nelson age 80 years old, of Centerville Ohio, passed away on June 29, 2023.
He was born in Beavercreek, Ohio on September 6, 1942, the son of Clarence and Kathryn (Kay) Nelson.
He was preceded in death by his wife Rita Marie Nelson, parents Clarence and Kathryn (Kay) Nelson, and brother Gary D. Nelson.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter Jody Fecher (Scott) and son Joe Nelson (Mollie) Stepchildren Jill Drawdy (Ken) Mike Hanes (Beth) and numerous grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
Ron grew up in Beavercreek with many fond memories and lifelong friendships made. He was a graduate of Beavercreek High School class of 1961. Upon graduation he began his trade as a tool maker at Vulcan Tool in Dayton. He then worked at Delco Moraine for 35 years until retirement. During that time he formed tight bonds with friends while playing in numerous golf leagues.
An avid runner, he entered many local 5k events throughout the years. As a sports fan, he enjoyed the UD Flyers, Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Bengals and Reds. What he enjoyed most of all was spending time with his family and friends.
Our family is very thankful for the loving care he received from Erin and the entire staff of St. Leonard Health & Rehab as well as the team from Ohio Valley Hospice. Also, Thank you all for your compassion and supportive kindness to Ron's family.
In lieu of flowers, feel free to make donations in Ron's memory to his favorite charities: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Hospital for Children.
Public visitation will be held at The Church of the Incarnation (55 Williamsburg Ln, Dayton, OH 45459) on Thursday August 17, 2023 at 10:00 am with a memorial mass to follow at 10:30 am.
