Ronald L. Bowens, age 76 of Dayton, passed away June 16, 2016. He was born April 12, 1940 in Dayton to the late Virgil and Betty Bowens. In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca; and son, David Bowens.
Ron is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Sheila and Mark Henson; son and daughter-in-law: Ronald and Loretta Bowens; grandchildren: Dustin, Kimberly, Harley, Becky, Will and James; brothers: Jerry, Bob and Ricky Bowens; sisters: Midge Adkins and Helen Cox; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Ron was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and retired from the National Guard and the Dayton V.A. Medical Center.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Monday, June 20, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday. Burial and military honors will follow at Byron Cemetery.
