Ronald E. Johns "Ron"

Ronald E. Johns "Ron", age 76 of Kettering, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born July 16, 1946 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Ronald "Earl" and Mary Johns. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Patricia (Bill) Rehkamp.

Ron is survived by his beloved wife, Eleanor; four sons, Wayne (Amy) Johns, Ron (Jenn) Johns, Chris (Natasha) Johns and Eric (Deborah) Johns, and daughter, Tiffany Johns; eleven grandchildren, Tyler, Heather, Noah, Emma, Garrett, Carter, Ainsley, Abigail, Gabby, Gwen, and Clara; five great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Michael, Jackson, Cooper, and Isaiah; two nieces, Barb Menke and Melinda Rehkamp; and nephew, Rick Rehkamp. He is also survived by numerous family and friends.

He graduated from Western Hills High School in 1964 and went on to work in the automotive industry. He stayed in the automotive business becoming a service director for several local dealerships. He used his industry knowledge and joined Reynolds and Reynolds in 1999 and later retired in 2010.

Ron was a lifelong Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals fan. His love for the Reds goes back to the days when he worked concession at old Crosley Field. The most important thing to Ron was his family, he loved coaching his sons in little league baseball and football and attending father/daughter dances. In his later years, he enjoyed playing PlayStation with his wife, Eleanor. He is well loved and will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, July 25, 2022 at Newcomer Funeral Home-South Chapel located at 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, Ohio 45439. Funeral Service will be officiated at 7:00 pm.
