Ronald Leonard Fosnot, age 83 of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2020. He was born February 15, 1937 in Richmond, Indiana to the late George L. and Margaret E. Fosnot. In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his sister, Elaine Gatti.
Ron proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for 27 years at McCauley Propeller Company (formally a division of Cessna) and retired from the Federal Aviation Administration in 2002. After retirement from the FAA, he began his own business, Ron's Air Worthiness Service, as a Designated Airworthiness Representative (DAR) for 12 years.
Ron was a member of Huber Heights First Baptist Church for 32 years where he was a Deacon and Usher. He enjoyed wood-working as a hobby and was an avid Bengals fan since the team's inception. Ron had so many wonderful qualities, but he will mostly be remembered for his love of God and deep love for his family.
Ron will be missed by his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Dolores Fosnot; children, Steven Fosnot (Shirley), Daniel Fosnot (Kelly), and Teresa Wheeler (Brian); grandchildren, Maria Sullivan (Mike), Alex Fosnot, Alyson Hasinger (Brandon), Samuel Fosnot, Benjamin Fosnot, Christopher Wheeler, Rachelle Wheeler, and Zachary Wheeler; and great-grandchildren, Kaylen Fosnot, Noah Fosnot, and Leo Hasinger.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, July 29, 2020 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton. Ron will be laid to rest at Polk Grove Cemetery, Vandalia.
