Ronald F. D. Sandlin, age 81 of Union, passed away March 14, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 26, 1933 in Gray Hawk, KY to the late Thomas and Letha (Ball) Sandlin. In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by brothers, Ellis, Calvin, Howard, Charles and Dwaine; sisters, Naomi, Bernice and Mary.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Billie Jean Sandlin; children, Jeff (Carroll) Sandlin, Kim (John) Tutor, Laura (Tim) Pittman and Mark Sandlin; 4 grandchildren, Cody (Breanna) Tutor, Sarah Tutor, Jared (Chelsea) Pittman and Caleb Pittman; sisters, Barbara (Dave) Flemming, Webby Sandlin and Carrie McDaniel; brother-in-law, Mike Baker; best friends, Odell and Sabra Huff; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Ron enjoyed photography and he was the official photographer for the Celtic Band, Dulahan. He also enjoyed playing music, gardening, fishing and rooting for the Cincinnati Reds. Ron played the guitar and sang at the First Baptist Church of Englewood.
Burial will be held at a later date at Sandlin Family Cemetery in Gray Hawk, KY.
