Ronald Edward Dunkel

Ronald Edward Dunkel, age 82 of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at home. He was born February 22, 1941 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of the late Edward and Thelma Dunkel. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Gary Dunkel.
Ronnie enjoyed tending to his yard at home, playing cornhole and gathering with family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and loved his family dearly. He will be remembered for his happy demeanor, easy going personality and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Ronnie is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Edna (Delehanty) Dunkel; children, Robert, Lori and Rodney (Mary) Dunkel; grandchildren, Kira, Eryn, Joshua and Sean; siblings, Denny Dunkel and Joy (Tim) Howard and many other family members and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Hospice of Dayton, especially, Sandy, Summer, Linda, Jo, Chaplain Dave and Janae for all their love and care during a difficult time.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 24, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45432). Funeral Service will be Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Ronnie will be laid to rest at Woodland Cemetery in Dayton following the service.
