Ron passed away peacefully in Hospice of Dayton on Feb 12, 2022. Ron was born on January 7, 1945 in Deckerville Hospital to the late Marion and Nels Colombe. He attended Carsonville-Port Sanilac High School, Class of 1963, where he was the Salutatorian, and Captain of the football team. After graduation, he studied business at Michigan State University.
He married the late Faye Paulette Woodard, March 12, 1966 in Port Sanilac, Michigan. He was a volunteer firefighter in Carsonville for 20 years, and worked at Aunt Jane's Pickles for 30 years. After Aunt Jane's closed, Ron and Faye relocated to Simpsonville, SC, where Ron worked as a materials manager for Shriners Hospital for the next 10 years. He was active in the United Methodist Church of Simpsonville men's group until his health started to deteriorate. He then moved to Dayton, Oh, where he was very comfortable in the assisted living facility in which he resided. He was made the Newcomer Ambassador, and welcomed all the new members, and showed them the ropes. He always knew what was going on, and wouldn't have it any other way. His hobbies included gardening, woodworking, and interior decorating.
He is survived by his sister Linda (Duane) Anderson, his son Ronald Jr (Lisa), and daughter Michelle (JR) Flemming, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
